Harking back to the days of the Mountain Men, I have created a large knife that should satisfy the most adventurous, modern day Jim Bridger.
The Campsman knife is designed to be, primarily, left in the camp with the cooking gear. However, this 7-1/4" blade is right at home out in the woods.
The blade is crafted from 01 carbon steel, 1/8" in thickness, providing enough weight & backbone for the most arduous of chopping, cutting and food preparation tasks. The handle (shown in Bocote) is long enough for the largest hand & gives a good, secure hold for chopping sticks or clearing brush. It is narrow enough to allow for good tip-control for food preparation & has a generous choil to let you 'choke' your grip up the blade.
The wooden plates are secured with epoxy resin & 4 1/4" brass pins & finished with Danish oil & wax for a durable, weatherproof seal.
